Client Experiences

Zulkifli Azman

Facilities Manager, Cyberjaya

The layout review was more thorough than I expected for the price. Amir went through our existing drawings zone by zone and flagged three access-path problems we had not noticed during our own review. The written output was clear enough that I could share it directly with our contractor without needing to interpret anything.

We brought lumeons in for the Operational Design Workshop before our second GPU cluster expansion. The pre-session questionnaire felt a bit formal at first but it meant the day itself stayed focused — we covered things in six hours that would have taken three separate meetings to get to otherwise. The planning templates have been used in every internal review since.

We took on the retainer for our Q1 and Q2 build phases. Having consistent advisory input across the whole period made a real difference — especially when contractor scope changed mid-build and we needed to re-evaluate part of the layout quickly. The quarterly decision log is something I reference regularly when briefing management.

Head of Infrastructure, Kuala Lumpur

I was initially unsure whether an advisory review without engineering drawings would be worth the engagement. It was — the layout review surfaced a rack-weight issue that would have caused problems with our raised floor specification. It gave us something concrete to raise with our M&E engineer before any physical work started.

Facilities Planning Lead, Subang

The workshop format worked well for our team, which includes both IT and facilities staff who do not always use the same terminology. Rajesh managed the session so that both sides were working on the same problem rather than talking past each other. The summary document captured the decisions accurately and we have used it as the basis for our internal briefing pack.

IT Operations Manager, Bangsar South

We engaged the retainer partway through a three-phase GPU infrastructure rollout. Having someone available to sense-check layout decisions between sessions was more valuable than I expected — there were several points where a quick call prevented a decision that would have been harder to undo at a later phase. Scope and pricing were clear from the start, which made internal approval straightforward.

How Engagements Played Out

Three examples of how lumeons engagements fit into real project contexts.

Case — Financial Technology Firm, PJ

The Situation

An IT operations team was preparing to add a second row of GPU racks to an existing server room. The layout had not been reviewed since the initial installation, and the team needed to understand whether the existing floor plan could support the addition before briefing contractors.

The Engagement

A Layout Planning Review was completed against the existing floor drawings. Zone mapping identified that the proposed second row would block the primary service corridor. Two alternative positions were evaluated and documented with trade-offs for each.

The Outcome

The team selected the second layout option from the review. The written review was used directly in the contractor brief, reducing the back-and-forth during scoping. The physical installation proceeded without layout changes once work began.

Case — Education Technology Provider, KL

The Situation

A technology team was planning a GPU server room from scratch for an AI training use case. The facilities and IT teams had different assumptions about zoning priorities and needed a facilitated process to reach a shared layout plan before engaging an M&E firm.

The Engagement

An Operational Design Workshop was run with both teams present. The pre-session questionnaire surfaced the key differences in assumptions before the day. The working session resolved the zoning disagreements and produced a set of planning templates the teams could hand to their M&E consultant.

The Outcome

The M&E briefing was completed using lumeons's planning templates with minimal additional preparation. Both teams reported that the workshop had aligned their understanding of the layout priorities in a way that earlier internal meetings had not managed to achieve.

Case — Logistics Technology Company, Shah Alam

The Situation

A three-phase GPU infrastructure build over nine months required consistent advisory input across each phase. The operations team needed support not just at project start, but at each decision gate where layout changes or scope adjustments were being considered.

The Engagement

The Design Advisory Retainer ran for two quarters covering phases one and two. Sessions were timed to project milestones. Between sessions, on-call input was used twice to evaluate layout changes prompted by contractor scope revisions.

The Outcome

Both phases were completed with layouts consistent with the original zoning plan. The quarterly decision logs provided a clear record for internal and executive review. Phase three planning was initiated using documentation from the retainer period as the starting baseline.
